Today I just want to go back to the summer of 2001. When everyone was looking for Chandra Levy on the news and there were no-fly zones. I want to go back to when you could hug your loved ones at the airline gate, no taking your shoes off.
I want to go back before those planes crashed into the towers and the Pentagon--before Homeland Security, before white powder scares, before snipers in Maryland.
I just miss the way things were, even though they weren't perfect, nor just, nor happy days for everyone. The world felt safer then, even though it actually wasn't. I guess I'm tired, wanting to go back to sleep for a few hours.
